Cleveland State University is a public research university in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was established in 1964 and opened for classes in 1965 after acquiring the entirety of Fenn College, a private school that had been in operation since 1923. CSU absorbed the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law in 1969.

Tuition and fees are subject to an annual increase.
• The degree program requires 30 -33 credits total (30 for thesis track; 33 for non-thesis), not including pre-requisite courses that
may be required. A typical courseload is 9, 10 or 11 credits/semester.
• Students are in the Global program for the first two semesters and will be charged a program fee that includes tuition for 9 credits
and all required fees. Any credits above 9 will be charged at a rate of $1196 per credit.
• Fees included in the Global first year program include: orientation, SEVIS, athletic, career services, Engineering & RTA UPass
fees. Course fees are not included and typically cost around $200/semester.
• Students without an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering may need to take up to 5 pre-requisite courses before
starting their degree program. We will pre-evaluate your transcripts and give you an estimate.
• Housing (required for at least one semester @ $4500 per semester) and insurance ($2400/year) are not included in the prices
above.

**Summer and year 2 credits do not include fees which will be charged directly to the student.

  • Duo lingo - 105 as of Spring 2025 (100 Fall 2024)

Successful completion of CSU's IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Advanced Level, with a grade of 80% or better (www.csuohio.edu/ce/ielp/).

Completion of English language studies (Level 112) from any ELS Language Center.

Graduated from a secondary school or accredited college/university in the US or from one of the TOEFL exempted countries.

Official score report of the GRE, GMAT, or MAT, if required by your academic department for your program. The academic program has the option of requiring additional test requirements from applicants. Please check your academic department's requirements in the graduate catalog.

Letters of recommendation are required for most programs, but not all. Please check your specific program's requirements by reviewing the minimum admissions requirements by program.
