Governors State University is a public university in University Park, Illinois. The 750 acres campus is located 30 miles south of Chicago, Illinois. GSU was founded in 1969. It is a public university offering degree programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.

Most programs are on a rolling admission basis. However, the following programs have admission deadlines or limited admission periods: Communication, Media, and Performance; Communication Disorders; Counseling; Health Administration; Nursing; Occupational Therapy; Political and Justice Studies; Psychology; School Psychology; and Social Work.
