Lawrence Technological University is a private university in Southfield, Michigan. It was founded in 1932 in Highland Park, Michigan, as the Lawrence Institute of Technology by Russell E. Lawrence. The university moved to Southfield in 1955 and has since expanded to 107 acres.

As an electrical engineer, you might work in areas ranging from tiny consumer electronic devices, medical equipment, and computers to automobiles and the massive power-generating apparatus used by utility companies – often using the controlled application of electricity to solve problems. And Lawrence Tech prepares you to succeed with a workforce-ready curriculum. The senior capstone project spans two semesters and includes the design, construction, and testing of an electrical engineering project. Recent projects have inspired students to design innovations such as an award-winning hybrid electric car, a thermal monitoring system for the Detroit Zoo(s) Reptile House, a photosensitive robot, and a breath analyzer/vehicle disabler interface.
