Welcome to Rutgers-Camden’s Masters in Biology. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the exciting study and research of diverse biological fields ranging from cell and molecular biology to neuroscience, physiology, and ecology. Completing this program opens doors to various paths including further graduate training through a Ph.D. program, or for employment in research or teaching positions in academia.
For the past half-century, the Department of Biology in Camden has been offering the Master of Science in Biology program. Within this program, you’ll find ample opportunities for strengthening your understanding of a range of biological areas such as cellular and molecular biology, neurobiology, physiology, and ecology, and build your research, analytical, and communication skills while exploring cutting-edge research.
Their projects cover a wide range of fascinating subjects, including RNA evolution, mitochondrial energetics, bacterial shape dynamics, circadian rhythms, developmental biology, adaptive animal evolution, and paleo-ecology.
Our facilities are housed in both the Science and the Joint Health Science buildings. These spaces provide an ideal environment for instruction and research. Our teaching and research laboratories are equipped with a large range of high-quality instrumentation, enabling you to conduct basic and advanced procedures in cytology, physiology, molecular biology, ecology, and environmental analyses.
