The Catholic University of America is a private Catholic research university in Washington, D.C. It is a pontifical university of the Catholic Church in the United States and the only institution of higher education founded by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Master of Science in Computer Science

The M.S. program has two options, the thesis option and the non-thesis option. The non-thesis option contains a minimum of 30 SCH of approved graduate-level courses.  Students should work with their academic advisors to setup their study plans upon entering the program.  For the thesis option, students should meet with their master thesis advisor, and submit a master thesis request form to the Department for approval. Students who take the thesis option will require a minimum of 24 SCH.

MS in Computer Science

  • No specific courses required
  • At least 6 graduate-level CSC courses
  • Up to 4 graduate-level courses in related disciplines (DA, MATH, ENGR, etc.) as approved by the department chair.
  • Masters Thesis option is available and requires two semesters of ENGR 696 Masters Thesis Guidance and deposit of an approved masters thesis, which counts as 6 credits, reducing the number of other required courses by 2.
