It is one of the "post-1992 universities". The motto of the university is in Latin Excellentia per societatem, in English Excellence through partnership.[3] In 2022, Anglia Ruskin has 35,195 students. As well as developing your knowledge of child and adolescent mental health, our postgraduate course will enhance your critical and analytic thinking skills. We’ll encourage you to reflect on theoretical perspectives relating to child and adolescent mental wellbeing. Mental health disorders can occur from early childhood and the prevalence increases with age, highlighting the importance of early intervention to prevent the development of long term or serious mental health problems. According to the Mental Health Foundation one in eight children and young people aged 5 -19 have a least one mental disorder. This has a huge impact on these individuals but also their families and the wider community. Whatever your reason for wanting to develop your understanding of child and adolescent mental wellbeing our Masters degree will give you the specialist knowledge to realise your ambitions. You’ll cover a range of aspects influencing child and adolescent mental health from psyche development, emotional wellbeing, coping mechanisms, social communication, learning disabilities and family dynamics. You’ll also explore interventions and treatment relevant to mental health issues in children. We welcome applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds, including those outside the areas of health care and mental health who have a degree-level qualification and a passion for child and adolescent mental health.
