Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a public university in East Anglia, United Kingdom. Its origins are in the Cambridge School of Art (CSA), founded by William John Beamont, a Fellow of Trinity College at University of Cambridge, in 1858. It became a university in 1992, and was renamed after John Ruskin, the Oxford University professor and author, in 2005. Ruskin gave the inauguration speech of the Cambridge School of Art in 1858. It is one of the "post-1992 universities". The motto of the university is in Latin Excellentia per societatem, in English Excellence through partnership.[3] In 2022, Anglia Ruskin has 35,195 students. ARU has six campuses across the south-eastern portion of the United Kingdom in Cambridgeshire, Essex, and Greater London.[4][5][6]

At ARU, our specialist modules focus on diagnosis and treatment of different conditions, developmental psychopathology (including causes and impacts) and the broader issues surrounding psychological research. You’ll also train in quantitative and qualitative research methods, including infant observation, assessment and diagnostic interviewing, neuroimaging (electroencephalography and magnetoencephalography) as well as neuropsychological assessment. This leads up to your dissertation project, which will involve significant independent research with the guidance and support of our expert staff. Our MSc Clinical Child Psychology is available to study full-time or part-time. As a full time student you'll be on campus for lectures, seminars and practical activities one day of the week and there are optional online sessions on other days in the week. This schedule is subject to change and can vary between trimesters and study years. Please note that this course does not include clinical work with children, patients or mental health service users. It does not constitute professional training, though it can support entry to a doctorate in clinical psychology (or equivalent). We encourage you to seek out relevant paid or voluntary experience while completing your studies; our course is designed to facilitate this.
