Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering 

Mechanical engineers are creative problem solvers who design, develop, and manufacture the machines that run energy, building, environmental, and transportation systems. You’ll take basic science and mathematics courses while beginning your engineering studies. Your senior year focuses on a yearlong design course to help you transition to an engineering career. Participation in labs further develops design, modeling, and analysis skills. Mechanical Engineering at CSU is dedicated to graduating ethical mechanical engineers who make an impact on society’s global engineering challenges.

Strong English language skills are important to academic success at CSU. To support student success, we require all students whose first language is not English to demonstrate a high level of English proficiency regardless of their citizenship. Applicants from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom whose first language is English are exempt from this requirement.

 

TOEFL, IELTS Academic, or Duolingo English Test (DET) results are the preferred indicators of English proficiency for undergraduate applicants. For applicants seeking direct admission, the requirements are as follows:
