Innovate, Improve and Manage Efficient Systems to Save Businesses Time and Money

Industrial engineering, in its broad nature, focuses on the design and improvement of systems, products and processes. A total systems approach is used to optimize the various aspects of operations in both manufacturing and service industries. The Master of Science in Industrial Engineering program at UCF supports the emergence of Central Florida as a national center of high technology, as well as assists the diverse service industries in the region and throughout the nation.

The Master of Science in Industrial Engineering program coursework focuses on the systems approach, including complexity, system-of-systems perspective, human-systems integration, as well as the critical issues of economic and social globalization, environmental and business sustainability, innovation and leadership. And with two ways to take courses — on campus or through the UCF Online industrial engineering program — you’ll gain the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a successful career at top companies, including Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, IBM and NASA.

As an industrial engineering graduate student at UCF, you’ll also have the opportunity to craft your program of study. This allows you to develop a specialized expertise in various areas of industrial and systems engineering, and engineering management that match your personal interests.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution recognized by UCF or its equivalent from a foreign institution.

GPA of 3.0 or more (on a 4.0 maximum) in all work attempted while registered as an undergraduate student OR while registered as an upper-division undergraduate student (normally based on the last sixty attempted semester hours)

OR, a graduate degree, professional degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution recognized by UCF or its equivalent from a foreign institution in a field related to the discipline of the program to which the student is applying.

The full language of the UCF Admissions Regulations for Graduate Students can be found at regulations.ucf.edu/chapter2.asp (UCF-2,003, UCF 2.0031, UCF 2.009).

International students, except those who are from countries where English is the only official language, those who have earned a degree from an accredited US college or university recognized by UCF, or those who have earned a degree from a country where English is the only official language or a university at which English is the only official language of instruction, are required to submit a score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) before they can be admitted to the university. Although we prefer the TOEFL, we will also accept the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. Students who are non-native speakers of English (and do not have a degree from a U.S. institution) must pass the English Speaking test administered by the UCF English Institute before they will be permitted to teach as a Graduate Teaching Associate or Graduate Teaching Assistant.

 

A TOEFL computer-based score of 220 or 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (or equivalent score on the paper-based test) or 6.5 on the IELTS is required unless otherwise specified by the program. The list below includes programs that have determined a minimum required TOEFL or IELTS score higher than the university requirement.

Fall Priority Deadline: Applicants who plan to enroll full time in a degree program and who wish to be considered for university fellowships or assistantships should apply by January 15 (or earlier if your program has a deadline prior to January 15).
