Are you ready to become a Blazer? Submit these materials to apply to UAB:

a completed application;

a nonrefundabacleac $40 application fee;

official proof of English proficiency (unless English is your first language);

official transcripts*. All documents must be sent in English.

If you are studying or living in the United States currently, you must send a copy of proof of your immigration status (passport, I-94, visa, and/or I-797 approval notice).

*UAB accepts both mailed and electronic transcripts - Mailing Address. Transcripts must be sent directly to UAB from the institution to be considered official. For transcripts sent through a secured transcript service (like Parchment, eScrip, or National Student Clearinghouse), please select University of Alabama at Birmingham from the vendor’s dropdown menu.

Admission Requirements

We use a holistic approach, utilizing several performance factors, including strength of curriculum, grades, grade point average, and test scores.

If English is not your native language, then you will have to submit an English proficiency test score. Official test scores should be sent directly from the testing agency to UAB (UAB institutional code: 1856). We will only accept English proficiency scores that have been taken within a two (2) year period from the date that the application was submitted. Scores that exceed this time frame are considered expired and will not be accepted.

Applicants who have attended a US high school for at least two years are not required to submit an English Proficiency score.

If you have completed at least 24 semester hours of transferable credit at a U.S. college or university, then you do not have to submit proof of English proficiency.
