Civil Engineers plan, design and supervise construction of buildings, roadways, bridges, water supply systems, communications networks and transportation systems. Using modern technology, they solve pollution and planning problems and tackle other engineering challenges. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. The undergraduate program, offered by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, includes course work in construction, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation and water resources engineering.
