Curriculum

The program consists of at least 30 hours and includes courses in business analytics and intelligence, data mining, artificial intelligence, deep learning, algorithmic techniques, database systems and bioinformatics.

The online application process includes five steps:

  1. Create an account using your personal email address.
    International applicants should not use an address provided by an agent or third party partner. The university will communicate with you at this email address until your arrival on campus.
  2. Begin the online application form. Complete all fields. The final page will notify you if any incomplete fields are needed.
  3. Provide payment details for the application fee.
  4. Submit the application.
  5. Upload transcripts, supporting materials and supplemental items as required.

International applicants - additional requirements

The materials listed below are not required to submit the application and receive an admission recommendation. They are required to receive final admit decision and an I-20.

Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official, acceptable scores for either the TOEFL, the academic module of the IELTS examination, the Duolingo English Test, or the PTE Academic. To be acceptable, the score must be sent to Wichita State directly from the testing agency and must be less than two years old.  There are no countries in Africa, South America, and Asia that are excluded from this requirement.

  • TOEFL (iBT) – 79
  • IELTS – 6.5 overall band score
  • PTE Academic - 58
  • Duolingo English Test - 115

Note:  The new TOEFL Essentials test is not currently being accepted by the Graduate School for verifying English proficiency.

International applicants are not U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents with a permanent resident (green) card. This includes those in the United States on a student, work or visitor visa (or spouse).

  • Priority deadline: March 1 fall semester, Aug. 31 spring semester — Application fee - $75
  • Secondary deadline: April 30 fall semester, Sept. 30 spring semester — Application fee - $135
  • Late submission: any date after secondary deadline — Application fee - $175
  • International readmission and deferral fee — Application fee - $75
