Information Systems Technologies, Master of Science

Program Purpose

The express purpose of Wilmington University’s Master of Science program in Information Systems Technologies is to provide and advance the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by perspective and current Information Technology (IT) professionals for managing information systems. Students completing the program will obtain a better understanding of the relationship between business requirements and technology solutions with an emphasis on applying a systems approach when integrating information technology into strategic business/education/government activities. Moreover, the program capitalizes on the inter-disciplinary nature of modern information systems and the settings in which they are implemented, the MS-IST Program includes four career concentrations.

The graduate student who successfully completes the M.S. in Information Systems Technologies (MS-IST) program will have a level of applicable knowledge in the following areas as appropriate to one’s field of study:

Admission Checklist for F1 Visa

Wilmington University Application for Admission

$35 non-refundable application fee (paid at the time of submitting application)

Copy of a Valid Passport

Official Transcript Evaluation is required if educated outside of the U.S. or a U.S. territory (must be original). The agency must be a member of the NACES accreditation group (General report for High School, Detailed or Course-By-Course Report with GPA for college or university – Masters students must have an equivalent of a Bachelors degree in the US; Doctorate students must have the equivalent of a Masters degree in the US). An evaluation is also required for any of the following circumstances:

An international high school diploma
A higher education institution transcript from a non-US institution
An institution not recognized by the Department of Education or an approved accrediting body
Affidavit of Support (must be signed and dated within 6 months of admission)

Bank Statement (minimum funds $23,550, must be within 6 months of admission)

Proof of Language Proficiency: TOEFL, TOEFL Essentials, IELTS, PTE, or Duo Lingo scores. Your eligibility for admission is based on these scores and you may be placed into mandatory English courses based on these scores. You can check the full ESL policy for further information.

If you are a first-time F-1 student traveling from abroad, you will first submit all required documentation to attend Wilmington University as an international student. You will then be issued the form I-20 (after all admissions requirements have been met) no more than 120 days prior to the program start date. With your Form I-20, you will pay the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee. SEVIS is the interface between the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and Wilmington University, and is used to administer your I-20. After the issuance of the Form I-20 and payment of the SEVIS fee, you will schedule a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy having jurisdiction over your location. Please visit the U.S. Embassy website for up-to-date information about Embassies and F-1 Visa application procedures. Once granted the F-1 Student Visa, you can enter the U.S. up to thirty (30) days before your program begins.

Applying for admission as an F-1 visa applicant is a multi-step process.  Your Designated School Official (DSO) will provide you with information and assistance throughout this process. Application and required documents must be received by the following deadlines:

Fall Semester Applicants by July 31 
Spring Semester Applicants by November 30 
Summer Semester Applicants by March 31

Once you submit all the required documents and any additional program requirements, you will be issued a Form I-20 within seven business days.

With your Form I-20, you will pay the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee. After the issuance of Form I-20 and payment of the SEVIS fee, you will need to schedule a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy with the jurisdiction over your location.
