Gonzaga University (GU) (/??n?zæ??/ gh?n-ZAG-?) is a private Jesuit university in Spokane, Washington.[7][8] It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.[9] Founded in 1887 by Joseph Cataldo, an Italian-born priest and Jesuit missionary, the university is named after the young Jesuit saint Aloysius Gonzaga.[10] The campus houses 105 buildings on 152 acres (62 ha) of grassland alongside the Spokane River, in a residential setting a half-mile (800 m) from downtown Spokane. The university grants bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees through its college and six schools: the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Education, School of Engineering & Applied Science, School of Law, School of Nursing & Human Physiology, and the School of Leadership Studies.[11][12]

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry offers two degrees (B.S. and B.A), two majors (Chemistry or Biochemistry) and one minor (Chemistry). With an emphasis on undergraduate research, the department provides excellent opportunities to test the laws and theories of chemistry through hands-on experiments. In our department, you will build strong laboratory skills and develop an understanding of topics in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry, along with a well-rounded Jesuit education as you pursue a major.

Gonzaga University will not require an SAT or ACT score for those applying for college admission. There are two important notes to this policy; homeschooled students with less than 30 semester or 45 quarter college credits (at the time of applying) must submit an SAT or ACT and international students are required to submit a test score to demonstrate English proficiency through TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, iTEP, SAT, or ACT.

International students must meet one of the following in order to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements to be eligible for undergraduate admission:

1.) Official English Language Proficiency Scores:
