The University of Arizona (Arizona, U of A, UArizona, or UA) is a public land-grant research university in Tucson, Arizona, United States. Founded in 1885 by the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature, it was the first university in the Arizona Territory. The University of Arizona is one of three universities governed by the Arizona Board of Regents. As of Fall 2023, the university enrolled 53,187 students in 19 separate colleges/schools, including the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson along with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix and the James E. Rogers College of Law. The university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity". UA also is a member of the Association of American Universities. The University of Arizona is affiliated with two academic medical centers, Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. Known as the Arizona Wildcats (often shortened to "Cats"), the UA's intercollegiate athletic teams were members of the Pac-12 Conference of the NCAA. The university joined the Big 12 Conference on August 2, 2024.[8] UA athletes have won national titles in several sports, most notably men's basketball, baseball, and softball.

The Master of Science in Chemistry (M.S.) introduces you to interdisciplinary research in chemistry and trains you in both foundational concepts and the planning and execution of research in the molecular sciences. The M.S. program prepares you for a career in research or a future Ph.D. and provides a course of study with diverse opportunities for engagement in world-class research. With support from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense and Department of Energy, the programs in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry have access to research that touches all disciplines within the chemical sciences.

Three letters of recommendation. One of the letters must come from your research advisor. These letters should be submitted by your referees using the online system.

2. Transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended or are currently attending. Transcripts should be uploaded in your online application.

3. A brief Statement of Purpose, describing your past research experiences, goals, teaching experience and why you want to attend The University of Arizona.

4. TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Please self-report your total internet-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score and upload a copy of your score report. English proficiency is one of the conditions for admission for all applicants whose native language is not English. A minimum aggregate TOEFL score of 80, with a score of at least 24 on the speak portion is required for admission. An IELTS (International English Language Testing System) composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6.
