Hofstra requires all undergraduate applicants from non-native English speaking countries to demonstrate English proficiency. This requirement can be met by submitting the minimum score from any one of the tests listed below. These test scores can be self-submitted, but must be issued by the testing body. Exam Minimum Score
SAT Mid-range test scores of admitted students: 1140 to 1330 (500 or above on Evidence Based Reading and Writing Section)
IELTS 6.5 or higher
TOEFL, internet-based-TOEFL (IBT) Score of 80 or higher
Duolingo Score of 120 or higher
Gaokao: (Chinese National Higher Education Entrance Examination) English with 120 or higher with skype interview
IGCSE/GCE "O" or "A" Level in English language with a grade of C or better
IB English A Language and Literature (HL) or English A Language (HL) Score of 5 or higher
Advanced Placement (AP) Examination Equivalents: Language & Composition exam or Literature & Composition exam with 4 or better
The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA) Score of 53 or higher;
