The Richard J. Fox School of Business and Management is the business school of Temple University. Located in Philadelphia, the Fox School offers several Master of Business Administration programs (full-time MBA, part-time MBA, international MBA, executive MBA and online MBA); several other master's degree programs; and several Ph.D. programs, including in accountancy, finance, marketing, international business, entrepreneurship, management of information systems, risk management and insurance, strategic management, and tourism/sports. The school has some 6,500 students, 155 full-time faculty, and over 42,000 graduates, of which about two-thirds live and work in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. It is the largest business school in the Philadelphia region and one of the largest in the world. Established in 1918, it was named in honor of Richard J. Fox in 1999.[1] The MBA program began in 1942. The school has been accredited by the International Association for Management Education (now the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)) since 1973. The PhD in Economics program was established in 1976.

Prepare for a career in research or advanced graduate studies with the Master of Science in Chemistry in the College of Science and Technology at Temple. This master's degree is interdisciplinary and flexible, designed to develop your expertise in one of five chemical disciplines. With the option to take classes full or part time, you can earn your degree while still working professionally. You can pursue either a thesis track or program coursework, and both tracks emphasize significant investigation into the chemical sciences. Work toward the Chemistry PhD, or prepare to lead research in biotechnology, environmental science, forensic science, healthcare and more.

You’ll study and perform original and collaborative research in one of the following specific areas of specialization.

  • analytical chemistry

  • biochemistry

  • inorganic chemistry

  • organic chemistry

  • physical chemistry

Though some classes vary between the coursework and thesis tracks, all help you form a deeper understanding of specific areas of study, including environmental chemistry, materials and polymers, medicinal chemistry, nanoscience, photonics and surface science.

Some of the courses in this degree program focus on

  • the key chemical and physical properties of nanomaterials;

  • the principles and applications of important physical and spectroscopic methods;

  • organic structure and organic reaction mechanisms; and

  • quantum mechanics and its application to chemical systems.

The Fox School of Business has a rolling admissions process. Fox Graduate Admissions Committee reviews for decision at application completion (form submission and receipt of required documents).
