Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
You'll apply technical knowledge to design and control systems big and small from single-chip microcontrollers used refrigerators to complex computers used for space travel. You will learn how you can use only two digits to build all the edifices in the digital world. You’ll also learn to think critically in broader societal contexts.
Major courses include digital system design, circuits and electronics, computer organization, embedded system design, signals and systems, database, and programming languages.
- ECE287 Digital Systems Design
- ECE289 Computer Organization
- ECE388 Introduction to Smartphone Technologies
- ECE484 Digital Signal Processing
- CSE271 Object-Oriented Programming
Computer engineering is one of the fastest-growing disciplines in Ohio and in the nation. Graduates have the opportunity to work in a diverse spectrum of professional fields. These vary from research to design, development to manufacturing, and technical sales to production. Many computer engineers work in manufacturing-related areas such as in the analysis and design of varied products as well as in non-technical sectors of the economy such as business, law, and management. You will also be prepared to continue your education at the graduate level.
