Bachelor of Science in Construction Management
Construction Management prepares individuals to manage, coordinate, and supervise the construction process. Includes instruction in commercial, residential, mechanical, highway/heavy civil, electrical, environmental, industrial, and specialty construction; facilities management; budgeting and cost control; logistics and materials management; organization and scheduling; personnel management and labor relations; site safety; construction contracting; construction processes and techniques; and applicable codes and regulations.
Studying Construction Management at the University of Cincinnati gives students a deep exploration of the design-build-construct continuum. In the bachelor's program, students take courses that cover all aspects of the design-build-construct continuum, including focus in management, engineering, and business while gaining hands-on experience training in the fields of construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and project controls. The minor is intended to familiarize students in related fields (such as architecture, business, or planning) with the skills necessary to evaluate construction methods, theories, and practices, such as scheduling, estimating, and project controls.
The University of Cincinnati offers undergraduate program options, including the BS and minor. Students are encouraged to develop their skills and build their resumes through co-op programs at companies such as Messer Construction Company, Danis Building Construction Company, Helix Electric, Walsh Construction, and Turner Construction.
