About the Program

Tailored to working professionals with evening classes, CSULB’s graduate Mechanical Engineering program helps practicing engineers increase their competence or prepare for more advanced study. Students can complete their Master of Science degrees with a thesis or comprehensive exam. A limited number of teaching or research assistant positions are available. Students can focus on:

  • Dynamics, vibration, control, and robotics
  • Fluid and thermal sciences
  • Mechanics and materials, or
  • Design and manufacturing

Minimum GPA - 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale), STEM programs require a 3.0

- 3 Year Degrees from India are accepted with a NAAC grade "A" or better and if student graduates in Division I

- TOEFL (80), IELTS (6.0 Overall, no sub-score below 6.0), PTE (58), or Duolingo (115)  - Official Scores Only

- Duolingo is accepted but the score cannot be entered on the official Cal State application. Please submit the application and then release an official score to CSULB

- GRE/GMAT (Program-Specific)
