Located near the mountains of upper east Tennessee, ETSU is an accredited public 4-year university home to almost 15,000 students. ETSU offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate academic programs in subjects such as the sciences, business, health sciences, the arts, and technology, including highly ranked programs in Computing, Public Health, Nursing, and MBA, among others. ETSU is large enough to offer all the opportunities you can imagine, but small enough to provide personal attention.

The Masters of Science in Engineering Technology is designed to provide students with an understanding of the production and operations interfaces between electrical and mechanical environments in the manufacturing setting. The curriculum will provide course work that supports the integration of current manufacturing standards.

Since there is increasing industry demand for graduates who can work in an interdisciplinary engineering environment that supports automation and interfacing of control systems to support advanced manufacturing topologies. The degree provides courses in advanced robotic manufacturing processes including vision-based systems, and instrumentation and smart sensor interfacing to support the manufacturing process.

Core Requirements: 30 credits
Engineering Technology Symposium: 4 credits
Capstone (choose one): 6-8 credits
     Thesis   (6 credits)
     Non-thesis Option 1: Internship   (6 credits)
     Non-thesis Option 2: Advisor Approved Electives   (6-8 credits)
TOTAL: 40-42 credits

An undergraduate course in probability and statistics

Resume: A current resume is not required, but applicants are encouraged to include one.

 Statement of Purpose   - 1 or 2 pages, discussing background, interests and reasons for wanting to pursue a Masters degree

Three letters of recommendation, from persons qualified to evaluate the applicant’s promise of academic achievement and potential for professional growth (Optional)
